Military Ministry

Bless the Lord, who is my rock, he gives me strength for war, and skill for battle. He is my loving ally and my fortress, my tower of safety, my deliverer. He stands before me as a shield, and I take refuge in Him. He subdues the nations under me.
Psalm 144:1-2
In 2009 the First Baptist congregation celebrated the Fourth of July by writing letters and praying for FBCW members who are stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan and who are engaged in frequent combat operations. Our service will begin a Military Ministry to pray for and support the soldiers and their families connected with FBCW.
First Baptist earnestly desires to support the men and women serving our country in the Armed Forces by praying for and ministering to each of the military personnel connected to the First Baptist body. We hope that the Military Ministry pages will encourage the everyone body to pray for our service men and women on a daily basis.
First Baptist's Military Ministry also serves as a reminder that we all are engaged in the war against terrorism and that we, as believers in Christ, are on the front lines of the spiritual battle raging in our country and throughout the world today. Our spiritual enemy is just as real and deadly as the terrorists we are battling. While terrorists seek to destroy the freedoms we cherish as Americans, our spiritual foe seeks to destroy our spiritual freedom to follow and serve Christ.
In Ephesians 6, Paul reminds us that we face a spiritual battle and he exhorts us to "be strengthened in the Lord" and to depend on "the strength of His power." Eph 6:11. Paul exhorts us "with every prayer and petition, to pray at all times in the Spirit, and to this end be alert, with all perseverance and requests for all the saints." Eph 6:18.
Through First Baptist's Military Ministry, we hope to facilitate your prayers for and support of our military personnel around the world
